Three international opera soloists based in Copenhagen are on stage in a tribute to Puccini and his Italian composer colleagues, who in the years around 1900 put as realistic fates as possible on stage in the "Verismo Opera" form and style.
At the time, Giacomo Puccini was the big star of Italian opera. He is a master at zooming in on the emotional highs, where he spreads his highly addictive melodies with searing passion. The Italian word "vero" means "true" or "real" and this movement of Verismo Opera created some of Operas most inspiring titles, which we see performed around the world today, and are so proud to present in concert as part of our 2021 Opera Festival.
