The British soprano is one of the most sought-after sopranos worldwide and has for three decades been one of Europe's greatest singers with starring roles at, among others, La Scala in Milan, The Metropolitan in New York, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Sydney Opera House. In addition, she has been a regular artist at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.
In Copenhagen this summer, the famous soprano can be experienced as an inspiration, an entertainer and as an interpreter. Susan Bullock will present two personally curated concerts that demonstrate her extraordinary versatility as a performer, and furthermore, she will lead vocal masterclasses running over three days, exploring all the dramatic qualities and possibilities that will lift a strong voice to even higher heights.
"Her masterclasses are superb. The singers feel so comfortable in her company and the audience always feel invited in and included," says festival director Amy Lane, who does not hesitate to rank Susan Bullock as one of opera's most finest “singer actors."
Susan Bullock herself is also looking forward to taking part in the festival: “I am looking forward enormously to coming to the Copenhagen Opera Festival this summer as Guest Artist in Residence. It will be very exciting not only to perform in this beautiful city and to get to know it a little more, but also to work in Masterclasses with some fabulous young artists and to explore all aspects of being a singer together.“
